Learning Journey: Creating a Sustainable Future
Hear about how the Fundamental Concept, Creating a Sustainable Future, can be a part of your organisation's vision and goals at this Learning Journey Event. Hosted by the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Creating a Sustainable Future
"Excellent organisations have a positive impact on the world around them by enhancing their performance whilst simultaneously advancing the economic, environmental and social conditions within the communities they touch."
Winners of the Sustainability in Excellence Award 2015, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre will present on their commitment to sustainability practices, the changes made, and how this has impacted on the organisation as a whole. Marshall Dallas, Chief Executive of the EICC, will be present to welcome delegates and speak briefly about their sustainability aims before Reynaldo Guino-o is introduced to present more in-depth about the Green Team's work and practices.
One of Hospitality Assured's Directors will then provide an introduction to the organisation, its relationship with the EFQM Excellence Model and the considerable involvement that Scottish organisations have had with the scheme since its launch in 1998. The nine steps of the Standard will be covered and aspects of sustainability identified for each step before concluding comments on Sustainable Excellence and the evidence of business growth, improved performance and customer service improvement that have been driven by organisations who have embraced Hospitality Assured.
Our final speaker comes from Zero Waste Scotland. They will be presenting on how the Resource Efficient Scotland programme can help support organisations with their sustainability practice goals, whether that’s starting a new initiative or helping them measure their current practices. The Resource Efficient Scotland programme has been designed to help organisations reduce costs by implementing resource efficiencies in energy, water, raw materials and waste management. The programme offers free advice and technical support as well as the sharing of best practices and new technologies.

About Hospitality Assured
Hospitality Assured is the Standard for Service and Business Excellence created and licensed by the Institute of Hospitality specifically for customer led, service orientated businesses. With our support the Hospitality Assured process enables and encourages businesses to look at their operations through the eyes of the customer at every level of the organisation, identify what is great about their customer service and what can be improved.
The nine steps of the standard are the framework which our assessors use to measure service quality and benchmark. Businesses then use this information to monitor their progress towards achieving customer service excellence and optimising organisational performance.
