Lean Workshop: Managing with Agility

This Lean Workshop, in partnership with Catalyst Consulting, will include expert speakers from multinational organisations SKY and SELEX ES looking at, and demonstrating how, Lean and the EFQM Excellence Model can work together to help drive change and efficiencies in your organisation.

Managing with Agility:

Excellent organisations are widely recognised for their ability to identify and respond effectively and efficiently to opportunities and threats.

Wayne Fisher, Sky, will talk about establishing and re-energising a framework for deploying Lean Six Sigma within an organisation and using it as a model for embedding Lean as part of a continuous improvement culture. Wayne will share tips and pointers as well as pit falls to think about when considering this journey and share some experience from the work he has done in Standard Life, Aegon and Sky. He will also share an effective visioning tool (Sundial Plan) that he has used to help shape a deployment and demonstrate a visual plan of activity.

Jamie Pollock, Senior Process Improvement Analyst at Sky, is a Black Belt in Lean and will share his experiences of using some of the Lean Six Sigma tools, discussing successes and failures and the possible reasons.

Heather Carnochan, Dumfries and Galloway Council, will present their overarching approach to Lean and describe specific improvement projects focused on payment processes and service improvement.

Michael Lees, Head of Quality, Finmeccanica SELEX ES, will talk about how Lean Sigma is used in a High Value, High Complexity, Class Leading Avionics environment.
