Using the Balanced Scorecard Approach

The Balanced Scorecard has been used effectively by organisations around the world, from commercial multinationals and SMEs to those in the public and third sectors.

If you already know that the Balanced Scorecard is for you, this workshop will enable you to explore the approach in depth with a facilitator who will guide you through the various stages of developing strategy and building your own Balanced Scorecard with colleagues.

The programme includes an overview of the Balanced Scorecard and exploration of key issues and activities focussed on strategic planning, selecting indicators and articulating links between strategy and performance. Debate across stakeholders is encouraged as we start to develop scorecards that reflect the varied contributions within each organisation.

The workshop can be delivered on 3 consecutive days but it works best when participants take time between delivery days to work with colleagues.

It is useful for the facilitator to gain an understanding of your organisation, section or team beforehand. This helps to ensure that presentations reflect your specific circumstances. You are encouraged to bring along work-based information that will help inform your developing Balanced Scorecard. Case study material can be provided where required.
