SQMCFounded in 1989, the Scottish Quality Management Centre (SQMC) was initially a business systems think tank of the Stirling University Management Sciences faculty.

It became a commercial training provider under the guidance of its Director of Programmes, Ian Hannah – a Fellow of the Institute of Quality Assurance (the IQA; known today as the Chartered Quality Institute).  Ian’s work gained SQMC formal Registration with the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA), in London; and SQMC subsequently became the first Scottish training body to offer IRCA accredited Lead Auditor qualifications. 

Today, SQMC Ltd is a privatised training centre, headquartered on Fife College’s Dunfermline campus.  Their speciality remains Quality Management Systems training – particularly Auditing qualifications, for which they remain Approved by IRCA to provide.

Our courses and facilitated workshops cover topics including leadership development, communication, benchmarking, strategy, performance management and the Balanced Scorecard. Our research activities include design and analysis of employee and customer surveys, evaluation of projects and initiatives, support with analysis of results and bespoke research on topics relevant to individual customers.
