Improving Organisational Capability Can Lead to Productivity Gains

Nick Shields, director of SMAS and Quality Scotland Board Member, features in Friday’s Scotsman on how productivity gains can be realised through improved organisational capability using the EFQM Excellence and SC21 (Supply Chain 21) Models.  Driving organisational capability through improved management practice, staff engagement and continuous improvement is a key driver to improving business productivity which in turn is key to improving our economy and raising living standards. Once viewed as a mechanism for delivering the same with less, productivity is now viewed as a key driver of societal benefit providing stronger public services and improved opportunities for all.
