
Gordon McCallum
Director of Business Excellence

Gordon has over 30 years management experience in senior positions in industry, including heading up planning and operations teams and lead programmes in the UK, Europe and Africa. Gordon’s specialist areas include the EFQM Excellence Model for which he is accredited and licensed by Brussels.
Gordon is currently the Director of Organisational Excellence within Quality Scotland where he oversees the training and accreditation of EFQM Assessors at an international level to meet the requirements of Quality Scotland’s Awards Process as well as EFQM’s European Awards. He is also the lead on Corporate Management team assessments on behalf of Quality Scotland.
Anne Sutherland
Marketing Manager
Quality Scotland
As Marketing Manager, Anne develops and manages the marketing plan for Quality Scotland. In addition, she is involved in the establishment of both long and short-term marketing strategies to meet organisational objectives as well as develop membership services, products and services.
Since joining Quality Scotland, Anne has assisted with the development and organisation of events such as the Scottish Awards for Business Excellence. As well as being part of the Corporate Support Team, Anne has been Secretary to the Board of Trustees and a member on the Implementation Team of the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF).
Anne is a qualified EFQM Accredited Assessor.
Alaine Sommerville

Having first learned about the EFQM Excellence Model whilst studying for a Masters in Business Administration in the early 1990s, Alaine has used the Model and self-assessment approaches in a number of organisations in which she has worked. She has also taken part as an assessor in the British Quality Foundation's and the EFQM's Awards processes. In 2006 she achieved a PhD from University College London on the applicability of the Excellence Model to higher education.
Alaine is currently involved in training on the 2-day self-assessment and 3-day accredited assessor courses both in-house and generic and manages a leadership and excellence programme with the Edinburgh Institute of Napier University Business School for those undertaking these two courses in conjunction with leadership and work-based learning modules to constitute a leadership pathway leading to a masters degree.
Alaine is also currently responsible for the development andfacilitationof a college sectornetwork to look at the applicability of the Excellence Model to that sector and has worked with articulation hubs to customise the EFQM Excellence Model for their purposes. Shealsomanages a portfolio of member organisations from the wider education community.
Additionally, she manages a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with North Highland College of the University of the Highlands and Islands to create web based blended learning materials for Quality Scotland courses.
Claire Ford
Account Manager
Quality Scotland
Since joining Quality Scotland in 2006 Claire has been responsible for our voluntary sector members and VSN Network. Claire is now a trainer and manages the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF).
Claire is also an Accredited Assessor of the EFQM Excellence Model and a validator for EFQM's Committed to Excellence programme. She has a wide range of experience carrying out self-assessments across organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Dave Bradley
Chief Executive

Dave qualified aselectronic engineerfrom Napier College and worked with Ferranti Ltd for 8 years. He then moved to Xerox The Document Company where he worked for 25 yearsreaching the position of Group Resource Manager, Scotland and Northern Ireland.Dave has worked on many major initiatives in Human Resources, Quality and Customer Satisfaction andwas instrumental in the Xerox Scotland Award Submission that won the Scottish Award for Business Excellence in 1995. During this time Dave achieved Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Since joined QS in 2000 as anAccountDirector, hegained further experience on quality frameworks and also has written a varietyofreports and paperson different Quality Frameworks, Standards and Tools.
Subsequent to this, Dave became Chief Executive of Quality Scotlandin October of2007.
Frances Farrelly
Training and Events Co-ordinator

After having worked as PA to a Director of PA Management Consultants, Frances had a short break during which time she was at home with her 2 children. She then moved to Napier University where she worked in the Language department before moving to the Business School as a Faculty Administrator. During this time she attained a degree in Business Studies.
Frances has been with Quality Scotland for over 3 years and is a key member of the Shared Services Team. Her main responsibility is the co-ordination of all Quality Scotland Training and Events.
Eileen McGregor
Office Manager and PA to Chief Executive
Quality Scotland
Having run her own Interior Design Business for 6 years, Eileen’s past employment was in Company Pension Schemes with Scottish Equitable / Aegon and Scottish Widows.
Eileen began working in Quality Scotland in 2003 as a training co-ordinator before being promoted to Office/HR Manager for Shared Services in 2006. She is also PA to Dave Bradley, Quality Scotland’s Chief Executive.
Ann Pike
Events & Awards Manager
Quality Scotland
Ann's role within Quality Scotland is within Products & Services, where she is responsible for Awards & Levels of Excellence, pro-actively working with Members to help maximise improvement efforts and in turn gain appropriate levels of recognition within planned timescales.
Before joining Quality Scotland Ann spent 34 years working within the Financial Services industry initially in Insurance & Investments and latterly as part of the Banking sector.
In a management role for the last 20 years she has managed a variety of departments from small be-spoke areas of less than 50 to larger areas of around 400.
Ann is a qualified EFQM Accredited Assessor and European Excellence Assessor.
Robert Farrelly
Account Director
Quality Scotland
Roberts’s main responsibilities include theservicing ofexisting Quality Scotlandmembership needs in respect of bespoke organisational excellence journeys, and togrow membership, with particular emphasis on the private sector.
In addition Robert is key to the formation and establishment of new member networks to enable them to share and work on best practice and joint projects as well as working as part of a collaborative team aiming to deliver appropriateproducts and services to our members, whilst maintaining the viability of Quality Scotland.
Nicola Ingram
Events and Business Development Manager
Nicola is responsible for putting together and managing the programme of events offered to members and non-members.
Nicola also forms part of the Corporate Support Team alongside Dave, Eileen and Anne with a specific role in Organisational Development; identifying and acting on any potential opportunities that are perceived to be in line with the strategic goals of Quality Scotland.
Nicola is an EFQM Accredited Assessor as well as being Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
Orla McDonald
Assistant Account Manager
Orla currently chair’s the Voluntary Sector Network Meetings.
As aqualifiedEFQM Accredited Assessor and a trained Committed to Excellence validator.Orla supports the work of Quality Scotland's Voluntary Sectorand Housing Association Networks as well as facilitating self-assessment sessions.
Orla also acts as a co-ordinator for Pathway, Quality Scotland's online self-assessment tool as well as assisting in the training and development programmes for Young Quality Scot.
Bob Ford
Director of Educational Trust
Bob is currently responsible for Quality Scotland youth and community work encompassing Young Quality Scot Awards cycle. Bob’s background is within Personnel work where he achieved Membership of the Institute of Personnel Development.
Shona Angus
Administrator Shared Services Support
Shona currently works on a part-time basis as Administrator for the Shared Services Support Team. Her main responsibilities include overseeing the production of Quality Scotland publications as well as assisting in the co-ordination of Training and Events. Shona is also heavily involved in the financial activities of Quality Scotland.
Lauren Corbett
Administrator Shared Services Support
Lauren is currently studying Human Resources at Napier University and works two days a week at Quality Scotland. Her main role is to provide support to the Shared Services Team as well as assisting in the sustainability of organisational excellence objectives within Quality Scotland.
Alan Clarke
Alan started work in 1967 as an apprentice electrician. During his apprenticeship he studied for his applied electronics diploma and qualified in 1971. He worked for a Swedish equipment manufacturer and then as an engineer in the medical laboratories in hospitals throughout Northern Ireland. Involved in the evolution of the mini and micro computer age Alan then studied software engineering and went on to develop data capture and reporting systems for the GP and Hospital environment in the UK, Ireland and Europe. He started work with Xerox in 1987 as a software analyst and progressed through the management structure to the position Quality Manager and finally as Sales and Marketing Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Taking the opportunity of early retirement in 2000 Alan joined Quality Scotland as a Development Director. During his time with Quality Scotland he has developed the Pathway product and introduced it into many public and private organisations.
Rob Pickering
Rob works as an online learning developer, on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with North Highland College, Thurso. He is responsible for the design and development of internet based training courses, based on the framework of the EFQM Excellence Model. This involves a number of related fields, including software engineering, graphics design, web development and learning technology design. In addition, Rob is responsible for managing the project’s timeframe and resources, and for co-ordinating the partnership with North Highland College. He has a Masters degree in e-learning from Heriot-Watt University, and is currently working towards a Diploma in Management and Leadership.
Corinne Edwards

Corinne is a recent member of the Quality Scotland team whose fundamental role is to assist Claire Ford in the support of the organisation’s public sector members. Corinne has already undertaken the self-assessment course and aims to develop her skills further by learning from her colleagues experience and attending training opportunities such as: the EFQM Accredited Assessor.
